My favorite of all the Overwatch animated shorts has to be hero, which portrays the goodness of Soldier 76. The story basically shows a young Latino girl who goes to the shop for her mother. On the way she is confront by some gang members who are beating up a robot. They tell her to hit the robot with a metal pole, however she chooses the goodness and tries to ignore them. However, they steal her purse and then leave on the back of a pickup. She then gives chase but when she catches up to them, she finds someone/thing is attacking the gangsters. Enter Soldier 76. who is trying to clean up the streets. One of the gang members throws a grenade but it goes past Soldier and lands in-front of Alejandra. Soldier 76 is then gives the choice, take down the bad guys, or save the young girl. Obviously he saves the girl, however when he gives her the purse back, we are then allowed to see that Soldier was actually look out for this girl all a long. Many people have speculated the reasons, but I too like to think that Alejandra is Reapers daughter and Soldier is looking out for her.

So to the artwork, I really love the shot in the animated short where Soldier has the moon in the background and has a pose that says he's looking over the whole world, as a hero. So I recreated this scene using soft pastels. It works well, especially the overall softness of piece of art, it really does after a relaxing mysterious feel to the piece.
